Planning approval has now been granted for a 93,000 sqft Grade A urban logistics development on Factory Lane in Croydon, South London.

Called The Works, the development is a joint venture between developer Chancerygate and SGN Place (the property development subsidiary of gas distribution company SGN), which will deliver 15 industrial units ranging from 2,000 sqft to 16,000 sqft. With a focus on green credentials, all units will target BREEAM Excellent rating and EPC A rating with photovoltaic panels and electric vehicle charging points provided throughout, along with substantial landscaping across the development.

With the previous gasholders now decommissioned and the remediation / enabling works complete, construction is expected to start later this year.
